Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE) said Thursday that its air and
ocean-freight business, DHL Global Forwarding, and SGS SA (SGSN.EB)
have signed a letter of intent to cooperate on expanding DHL's
Flexitank liquids-shipping service network.
The German freight-and-logistics group said it aims to expand
its current Flexitank network to include 60 countries by 2020.
Deutsche Post said it has already launched pilot projects in the
Benelux countries, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia
together with the Geneva, Switzerland-based inspection,
verification, testing and certification company.
"The partnership with SGS will support both companies in
providing customers with a one-stop shop solution for liquids
shipping in Flexitanks, in line with environmentally conscious
goals," Deutsche Post said in a press release.
