VCampus Corporation (OTCBB:VCMP.OB), manager of the Convergence
Technology Professional (CTP) certification and affiliate of the
Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), today announced the
worldwide availability of the new CTP 2007 certification exam. The
updated exam focuses on verifying that employees, technicians and
channel partners possess the essential skills needed to address the
rapid convergence of data, voice and video. The CTP certification
program is a pioneer among convergence certifications, and it is
designed and recommended by convergence industry leaders, including
Avaya, Inter-Tel and Toshiba. The CTP certification exam validates
basic knowledge of convergence industry standards and protocols,
infrastructure, signaling, telephony, Voice over IP (VoIP), and
topology convergence. This expertise is critical for professionals
in data networking, telephony and convergence technologies.
According to James Stanger, Ph.D., VCampus Chief Certification
Architect, CTP is the culmination of a tremendous amount of
research from experts in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. We
worked closely with industry-leading manufacturers and service
providers worldwide to develop an exam specifically targeted to
assessing technology professionals convergence skills. CTP has
always been a relevant gateway into the convergence industry;
however, with the proliferation of VoIP, it is now essential. The
latest version of the CTP exam is designed to evaluate the skills
of technology professionals in areas critical to convergence. These
include VLANs; QoS technologies and concepts; SIP functionality and
interoperability with PBX equipment; IP networking including IPv6;
Power over Ethernet; ENUM standards and configurations; wireless
handset and LAN standards; contact center implementation; bandwidth
concepts; codecs and voice quality; SIP vs. H323; security;
intrusion detection; and pre-qualifying a network for VoIP
implementation. Stuart Clark, General Manager for the Inter-Tel
Academy in the United Kingdom said, The world has quickly moved
toward the integration of voice, data and video. The CTP 2007 exam
has been designed to ensure that anyone within the industry can
prove they have the most up-to-date skills in the market regardless
of what country they reside. Without CTP, our channel wouldn't be
as successful. The CTP certification exam was designed under the
guidance of the CTP Advisory Council (CTPAC). The CTPAC consists of
representatives from leading manufacturers and includes the
non-profit organization, TIA, in the United States and United
Kingdom. VCampus plans to offer the CTP 2007 exam to both North
American and European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)/International
regions. Interested companies and individuals can visit
