Jean-Yves Charlier could soon become the new chief executive
officer of Vivendi SA's (VIV.FR) SFR, France's second largest
mobile operator by subscribers, in a bid to revive the media and
telecommunication group's main unit, French business daily Les
Echos reports Thursday without citing sources.
Mr. Charlier, currently chief executive officer of Vivendi's
interactive learning company Promethean, will take over from
Stephane Roussel, who will remain SFR's chairman, the report
said.
Vivendi is expected to announce the new appointment around April
30, the Les Echos report said.
A spokesman for Vivendi, and a spokeswoman for SFR declined to
comment.
