Kate Davies CBE, chief executive of Notting Hill Genesis, has
decided to step down.
Kate, who took over at legacy organisation Notting Hill Housing
Trust on 21 June 2004, plans to remain in post until a successor is
found. We aim to start that process in the next few days.
Over the past 18 years, Kate has overseen the growth of the
organisation to become one of the largest housing associations in
the country, with more than 66,500 homes owned or managed and a
turnover of GBP909.1m in 2020/21.
Since 2004 we have also seen a large-scale development programme
across all tenures, the creation of a private rent business that
grew to become Folio London and the introduction of a new housing
management model where every household has a named local
officer.
Kate has also had a long-term to commitment to diversity,
supporting the careers of women and people of colour. Last month,
Notting Hill Genesis was given a UNIFY Special Recognition Award at
the G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards.
Kate said: "With a very strong and diverse executive team and a
robust financial position, we are well-placed to take on the
challenges facing the sector over the coming months and years."
Ian Ellis, chair of Notting Hill Genesis, added: "I want to say
thank you to Kate for her many years of inspirational leadership.
Notting Hill Genesis has a great vision for improving residents'
homes, our estates and the services we provide, and thanks to Kate,
the executive board and our amazing staff we are in a great
position to turn that vision into a reality."
Beyond Notting Hill Genesis, Kate is a non-executive director at
the National House-Building Council (NHBC) and TopHat
Enterprises.
-- Additionally, Katie Bond has been appointed into a new role
of chief operating officer following a competitive recruitment
process. Katie will act as a single point of accountability to
ensure one high standard of services, including repairs, for all
residents regardless of tenure. As a reflection of the importance
of improving our operations, Katie will be a full member of the
board alongside chief executive Kate Davies, chief financial
officer Yomi Okunola and group development director John
Hughes.
