Biotrace International Plc, a leading manufacturer of industrial microbiology
products was informed today that as at close of business on 12 October 2006, The
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. ("GS Inc"), was interested, by attribution only, in a
total of 1,180,000 Ordinary 10p shares of the Group. The interest in 1,180,000
ordinary shares arose from a beneficial interest held by Goldman Sachs
International, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc.
