Caterpillar Safety Services Deploy DSS in Fatigue Risk
Assessment Program
6 July 2015
Seeing Machines (AIM: SEE), the AIM-listed company with a focus
on operator monitoring and intervention sensing technologies and
services, is proud to announce that Caterpillar Safety Services
(CSS) has ordered DSS units in preparation for delivery of Fatigue
Risk Assessments for Caterpillar customers.
The objective of Caterpillar Safety Services' Assessment Program
is to help mining, quarry and construction customers develop a
clear understanding of fatigue related risks within their
operations.
Seeing Machines' DSS, is one of the technology components used
by CSS experts to help measure operator fatigue and distraction and
to implement immediate improvements along with long-term
performance safety plans. The Assessments include an intensive DSS
data collection and analysis phase designed to empower leaders with
the knowledge and awareness necessary to understand the sources of
fatigue and distraction risks and how they can be best
mitigated.
"The DSS is an important component of our solution, " said Tim
Crane, Manager of Caterpillar Safety Services. "It's ability to
alert drivers in real-time is critical. From a long-term
perspective it provides the facts and data needed to drive
improvements to management systems, processes and training."
Ken Kroeger, CEO of Seeing Machines said: "Theses assessments
will gradually replace Seeing Machines' very successful DSS trial
program while broadening the technology's geographical footprint
and expanding the offering from only the mining sector into the
other Caterpillar fields of operation. We are working
collaboratively with Caterpillar' Safety Services to ensure that
they have all the skills that they need to make this program a
success. "
