S&P/ASX 200 Down 0.2% in Quiet Trade
13 January 2014 - 11:44AM
Dow Jones News
0014 GMT [Dow Jones] Australia's S&P/ASX 200 is down 0.2% at
5303.1 in quiet trading. The S&P/ASX 200 may have scope for a
positive close today after falling 0.7% last week versus a 0.6%
rise in the MSCI World Index. Lower U.S. bond yields should tend to
support high-yield stocks. All sectors bar materials are down with
NAB (NAB.AU), Wesfarmers (WES.AU), CSL (CSL.AU), Woodside (WPL.AU),
Westfield (WDC.AU), Macquarie (MQG.AU) and QBE (QBE.AU) down
0.5%-1.9%. BHP (BHP.AU), Rio Tinto (RIO.AU), Fortescue (FMG.AU) and
Newcrest (NCM.AU) are up 0.6%-4.3% after the materials sector
underperformed the broader market last week.
