NZX-50 Closes Lower Led by Technology Companies Weakness
29 October 2013 - 4:40PM
Dow Jones News
0507 GMT [Dow Jones] The NZX-50 closes down 0.2% at 4852.594 as
technology companies saw some profit taking after strong rallies in
the last week. Xero(XRO.NZ) closes down 2.8% at NZ$27.90, Diligent
(DIL.NZ) was down 3.2% at NZ$4.55. Newly listed Meridian Energy's
(MELCA.NZ) installment receipts was up NZ$1.08 at debut, vs.
initial price of NZ$1.00. "It has had a good day but it remains
early days," says Hamilton Hindin Greene broker Grant Williamson.
He says that foreign interest in Sky Television (SKT.NZ) and Sky
City (SKC.NZ) seems to be supporting the companies share prices.
SKT was up 0.7% at NZ$6.14 while SKC closes up 1.8% at NZ$3.93.
