American Express (NYSE: AXP) today announced a new Membership
Rewards program relationship with Airbnb, the world’s leading
community-driven hospitality company where people can list,
discover and book unique accommodations around the world. U.S. Card
Members who are enrolled in the Membership Rewards program can now
use Membership Rewards points for Airbnb eGift cards.
eGift cards are available in $100 and $250 denominations. Card
Members simply redeem points at membershiprewards.com, and then
receive an eGift card via email that can be used to book stays
directly with Airbnb. Terms and Conditions.
“When it comes to travel, our Card Members love unique
experiences they can’t find anywhere else,” said Michael Rouse, VP
& GM for Membership Rewards & Loyalty Experiences. “Travel
is the most popular way our Card Members use Membership Rewards
points, and our relationship with Airbnb gives them a chance to use
points in a way that’s truly one of a kind.”
The Membership Rewards program gives Card Members a wide variety
of ways to use points for the things they love, want and need.
“Airbnb is about creating your own special travel experience,
while allowing you to feel a sense of belonging wherever you go
around the world,” said Andrea La Mesa, Regional Director for North
America at Airbnb. “Through the Membership Rewards program, we’re
excited that Card Members can now use points for Airbnb eGift cards
that they can use to rent unique places to stay from local hosts in
more than 34,000 cities and 190 countries.”
Airbnb eGift cards also make great gifts. In fact, according to
the latest American Express Spending & Saving Tracker, 62% of
Americans said they’d prefer the gift of travel over other presents
this holiday season.
