CUSTOMER WIN: Trustmark National Bank Protects Sensitive Customer Information with BMC Software

At Trustmark National Bank, protecting sensitive customer
information is a mission-critical IT objective. To help meet
stringent IT regulations, such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and the
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and reduce vulnerabilities that can
expose customer data to outside threats, Trustmark relies on BMC
Software (NYSE:BMC).
BMC’s Business Service Management (BSM) platform automates the
patch management process from deployment to client configuration
across the bank’s Windows, Adobe and Java applications.
Before turning to BMC, Trustmark used a Windows-based solution
to deploy patches and manage client configurations. That meant
non-Windows applications had to be manually created, tested and
physically run across 3,500 workstations in four states. The
success rate languished around 60% to 70%, and required more than
30 hours of staff time.
BMC enabled Trustmark to fully automate the process across all
applications and cut patch upgrade times in half. The patch success
rate jumped to more than 95 percent.
“BMC BladeLogic Client Automation enables us to rapidly create
and roll out patch updates and provides us instant reporting on the
success of the deployment,” said Chris Davidson, vice
president/manager of Trustmark open systems. “Now we’re making our
applications safer and improving our IT compliance goals in less
time and with fewer resources, which for our customers means a
safer environment for their information and investments.”
