23andMe to Disable Interface That Provided Genomic Data to App Makers -CNBC

--23andMe said it would disable an application-programming
interface that provided anonymized raw genomic data to app
developers, CNBC reported.
--In an email to developers, 23andMe said "we're updating our
API program to focus on apps that build on the interpretations and
results we provide to our customers," CNBC reported. 23andMe
considered opening an app store years ago but didn't proceed
because of challenges in vetting app developers, CNBC reported.
--In July, GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK) said it would invest $300
million in 23andMe.
