Tesoro Corp.'s (TSO) Wilmington, Calif., refinery is ramping
towards normal operating rates on June 7 following a power outage
the day before. Several unspecified processing units were affected
by the outage, company spokesman Mike Marcy said late Tuesday.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) said on June 7 that shipping docks at
its Baton Rouge, La., refinery had been completely re-opened after
closoing on May 15 due to the Misssissippi River flooding. The
docks were partially re-opened around May 25 when water levels
receded, the company said at that time. The refinery is operating
at planned rates.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) on June 7 said its Port Arthur, Texas,
refinery was in restart mode following a power failure on June 6.
The impact of the outage was still being assessed, the co. said on
June 7.
BP PLC (BP) on Tuesday shut FCCU-3 at its Texas City, Texas,
refinery to facilitate 48-hour maintenance at an associated Wet Gas
Scrubber.
Several processing units at Western Refining's (WNR) oil
refinery in El Paso, Texas, were restarted Monday after an early
morning, spotty, power failure resulted in shut downs in the north
and south sections of the plant, the company said in a filing to
Texas state environmental regulators.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. on June 5 shut FCCU No. 2 at its oil
refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, due to a malfunction at an
associated pressure control valve, the company said in a filing to
Texas state environmental regulators.
Tesoro Corp. on June 6 said some process units at its Los
Angeles-area refinery shut down on a power disturbance, according
to a filing with state environmental regulators.
ConocoPhillips (COP) reported flaring activity at its Rodeo,
Calif., refinery on June 5, according to a filing with state
environmental regulators. The cause of the incident was not
disclosed.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) performed planned maintenance at its
560,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Baytown, Texas, the company said
June 3. A recording on the company's community hotline said
"planned activities" were underway, but no description or timeline
was given.
Citgo Petroleum Corp. reported equipment failure at an
unidentified unit at its Lemont, Ill, refinery late June 2,
according to a report submitted to regulators June 3. A company
official said June 2 that the refinery was operating at reduced
rates during repairs at a steam boiler and associated processing
equipment starting June 1.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said that its Bayway oil refinery in
Linden, N.J., is operating at reduced rates after a furnace fire
broke out at its crude unit June 1.
BP PLC (BP, BP.LN) and Tesoro Corp. (TSO) both reported that
flaring activity at their Carson, Calif., oil refineries will begin
the week of June 6, in filings with state environmental regulators
on June 2.
BP PLC (BP) reported excess emissions from fluid catalytic
cracker No. 3 located at its oil refinery in Texas City, Texas,
according to a filing with state environmental regulators on June
1.
BP PLC (BP) reported that its oil refinery in Carson, Calif.,
