XA to Produce the Celebration of Excellence Awards for Folio:
Magazine Awards Gala to Kick-off the Folio: New York Show CHICAGO,
Nov. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Experiential Agency, Inc.,
(XA) (OTC BB: EXAG), a major national event marketing firm that
serves many Fortune 500 companies, today announced it has been
named event agency of record to design and produce the creative
staging for the Celebration of Excellence Awards for Folio:
Magazine. Known throughout the magazine publishing industry as the
"Eddies" and the "Ozzies," the 15th Annual Eddie Awards and the
18th Annual Ozzie Awards will be presented Monday, November 15,
2004 at The New York Hilton. The Eddies are open to all magazines
-- consumer, b-to-b, associations and online. This is a unique
competition in which magazines are evaluated against their own
mission statement, rather than against the competition. Entrants
are judged on how well they fulfill their mission statements, the
quality of their content and how the overall design and production
supports their mission. The Ozzie Awards are open to all magazines
and are given in recognition of excellence in magazine design. A
distinguished panel of judges from the magazine industry selects
the winners based on design and entry statements. "We're thrilled
to have XA produce our awards program," said Kerry Smith, president
and chief executive officer of Red 7 Media, publisher of Folio:
Magazine. "We needed to breathe some new life into the industry's
premier awards event and make our celebration worthy of the talent
and enthusiasm of those we're honoring. XA has done an outstanding
job of understanding our objectives and delivering an experience
that we think will set a new standard for awards shows in the
publishing industry." The event marketing industry generates nearly
$80 billion a year in direct spending, according to a study by
Deloitte & Touche LLP. Moreover, corporate spending on event
marketing has been growing; it rose 15% in 2003 and it is predicted
to generate an additional 15%-to-20% growth in 2004. (Source: PROMO
