Rheinmetall AG said Wednesday that its joint venture with SAIC
Motor Corp.'s HASCO subsidiary, named HASCO KSPG Nonferrous
Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.(KPSNC), has booked a major order in
China to provide electromotor housings.
The five-year contract represents lifetime sales in the
double-digit euro-million range and comes from an international
automaker whose name wasn't disclosed. Production will start in
March, the German defense-and-automotive group said.
"The order encompasses electromotor housings made of aluminum,
which will be installed modularly in the customer's entire fleet of
electrically powered vehicles," it said.
