JOURDAN Reports Significant Drill Hole Intervals at the Prospective Baie Johann-Beetz Property in the Lower North Shore Uranium
13 April 2010 - 10:30PM
Marketwired
JOURDAN RESOURCES INC. (TSX VENTURE: JRN) ("JOURDAN" or the
"Company") (www.jourdan.ca) is pleased to report on interval assay
results from the recently completed winter 2010 diamond drilling
campaign on the Drucourt Uranium Zone ("Drucourt") at the Company's
wholly-owned prospective Baie Johann-Beetz Property (the
"Property"), located 25 km due east-northeast of the community of
Baie Johann-Beetz along Quebec's Lower North Shore Uranium Belt.
JOURDAN completed 2,111.0 metres of drilling in 20 holes along a
nearly 800 metre segment of Drucourt to validate historical drill
results. Significant interval assay results were outlined in 9
holes and are given as follows (a complete listing of interval
assay results and QA/QC protocols are appended):
-- 131.2 metres of 0.013% U3O8 from near surface to a down hole depth of
131.7 metres (BJB-10-06). The interval includes 23.0 metres of 0.030%
U3O8 from 31.0 metres to 54.0 metres, and 1.2 metres of 0.104% U3O8 from
50.8 metres to 52.0 metres;
-- 69.0 metres of 0.010% U3O8 from 24.0 metres to 93.0 metres (BJB-10-05A).
The interval includes 20.0 metres of 0.021% U3O8 from 35.0 metres to
55.0 metres, and 2.0 metres of 0.043% U3O8 from 44.0 metres to 46.0
metres;
-- 46.8 metres of 0.010% U3O8 from 2.9 metres to 49.7 metres (BJB-10-01).
The interval includes 13.0 metres of 0.023% U3O8 from 12.0 metres to
25.0 metres, and 4.3 metres of 0.037% U3O8 from 75.6 metres to 80.9
metres;
-- 37.4 metres of 0.013% U3O8 from 10.0 metres to 47.4 metres (BJB-10-2A).
The interval includes 5.0 metres of 0.031% U3O8 from 36.5 metres to 41.5
metres, and 1.0 metre of 0.062% U3O8 from 39.5 metres to 40.5 metres;
and
-- 5 additional intersections of 29.0 metres of 0.011% U3O8 from 71.0
metres to 100.0 metres (BJB-10-03), 31.0 m of 0.011% U3O8 from surface
to 31.0 metres (BJB-10-08), 33.2 metres of 0.010% U3O8 from 1.0 metre to
34.2 metres (BJB-10-09A), 30.5 metres of 0.010% U3O8 from surface to
30.5 metres (BJB-10-10), and 23.0 metres of 0.011% U3O8 from 43.0 metres
to 66.0 metres (BJB-10-10A).
Mr. Emilien Seguin, JOURDAN's President and CEO stated "JOURDAN
was successful in validating the historical uranium assay results
from the Drucourt Uranium Zone. We also increased the surface
length of the uranium mineralization from 400 metres to over 800
metres, as well as increasing the depth from 50 metres to 150
metres. The host rock for the uranium mineralization is a very
coarse-grained, late-stage and massive biotite-granite pegmatite
permeating and crosscutting the host mineralized biotite gneisses,
which locally adds significant core lengths to the uranium
mineralization such as in hole BJB-10-06 with 131.2 metres of
0.013% U3O8. JOURDAN will now evaluate the impact of these results
in comparison to the historic mineral resources defined for
Drucourt."
The Baie Johann-Beetz Uranium Property
The Property consists of 32 mining claims, including the
original 8 claim North and South Claim Blocks, totaling 1,800
hectares (18 km2). The South and North Claim Blocks are located 5
km and 8 km north-northeast of Kilometre 1312 on Provincial Highway
#138. Historic trenching and shallow diamond drilling on the
Property to a maximum -50 m depth in the 1960's and 1970's
identified two 500 m long Uranium corridor, one of which termed
Drucourt contains between 17 to 18 million tonnes grading 0.024 to
0.026% (0.48 to 0.52 lbs/ton) U3O8 for 9 to 10 million pounds of
U3O8 in Potential Resources (Minorex, 2006). Potential Resources
outline the potential quantity and grade of the mineralization. It
is not a recognized Mineral Resources category; it is conceptual in
nature, and should only be considered has an indication of the
uranium mineralization. There has been insufficient exploration to
define a mineral resource and it is uncertain if further
exploration will result in the discovery of a mineral resource. A
Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the
mineral resource estimates as current mineral resources.
The Property is strategically situated within the Lower North
Shore Uranium Belt of Quebec, a major Uranium bearing corridor that
also hosts Uracan Resources Inc. (TSX-V: URC) ("Uracan") North
Shore Uranium Project. Uracan has already outlined current Inferred
Mineral Resources of 154.9 million tonnes at an average grade of
0.012% (0.24 lbs/ton) U3O8 for 40 million pounds of U3O8 in the
"Middle" and "TJ" Zones (www.sedar.com). The Property is enclosed
by Uracan's North Uranium Shore Property with the "Middle" and "TJ"
Zones located 28 km to the west.
JOURDAN's strategy is focused on proving up higher quality
Uranium resources on the Property, as it initially aims at
validating and eventually doubling the current 9 to 10 million
pounds of U3O8 to at least 20 million pounds U3O8 in National
Instrument ("NI") 43-101 compliant Mineral Resources, and if
successful eventually delineate the Uranium mineralization over the
multi-kilometric trend as a high tonnage, low grade Uranium mineral
resource.
The Phase 1 winter drilling campaign on the Property consisted
of twinning of 1970's vintage drill holes within the original 500 m
strike length of Drucourt to validate historic grades and
continuity, and extending the known uranium mineralization along
strike.

Note: NQ-sized drill core from the Baie Johann-Beetz Uranium
Property was logged on site; NQ-drill core was split in half using
a hydraulic core splitter; half of the core averaging 1.0 metre in
length (ranging from 0.5 metres to 2.0 metres) was placed in a
plastic bag, tagged and sealed for sample shipping. Multiple
samples were inserted in large numbered nylon bags and shipped via
commercial truck transport to the ALS Laboratory Group facility in
Val-d'Or, Quebec. Individual samples were identified, bar-coded,
dried and weighed; followed by fine crushing to 70% under 2
millimetres; then split using a riffle splitter; followed by the
split sample being pulverized. Thorium and Uranium analysis
followed using the ME-XRF05 Method.
