Alco Advanced Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ALCD) announced today
that it signed a one year contract with an automatic renewal for
one year with the Port of Contecon. The port of Contecon is located
in the city of Guayaquil and is the most important port in Ecuador
with a volume of import and export containers of over 600,000 TEU
per year. The contract is for the maintenance, service and upgrades
of all the electronic security used by the port. The contract
service includes access control, surveillances, alarms and other
security systems. The initial contract is valued at approximately
$100,000 and could reach over $400,000 in upgrades based on our
recommendations and experience. Adrian Agazzi, Director of
Technology of the port of Contecon publicly announced that, "Alco
offers complete services that will allow us to keep up our security
at the highest level and make sure that the components of our
security systems are integrated and include new innovations in
technology." The port authorities in many ports are changed
frequently with new governing administrations and the new elements
of security are not adequately integrated in existing systems. Alco
is entering this new maintenance and service field in order to
establish a presence in ports and to assure that clients are able
to integrate new technologies and upgrades over long periods of
time. Alco marketing development strategy includes electronic
security system maintenance and upgrades which for Alco is a door
opener for its core service of electronic inspection services of
containers. Alberto Surijon, CEO of Alco said, "With these 2 core
services we are also getting ready to start a new datacom service.
That service will offer upgrades to our clients on all their cable
infrastructures as new Information technologies (IT) become
available in this dynamic and growing field of port security. Our
clients are now using more IP phones, security IP cameras that
facilitate increased networking, video conferencing, and day to day
coordination with the various entities involved in port activities
including immigration, contraband, customs, police monitoring and
terrorist protection. This coordination increases the required
bandwidth exponentially."
