Swatch Group AG (UHR.VX) may still reach its goal to post sales
of 8 billion Swiss francs ($8.5 billion) this year, the
watchmaker's chief executive tells weekly NZZ am Sonntag.
"We continue to fight to reach our goal of 8 billion francs in
total sales," despite headwinds from the strong franc, Nick Hayek
said.
Swatch is affected heavily when the franc is strong because the
watchmaker produces 90% of its products in Switzerland, of which
around 90% are being sold abroad, he said.
For the six months to June 30, Swatch reported sales of CHF3.85
billion, a rise of 14% from the year-earlier period.
