Polish broadcaster TVN SA (TVN.WA) and Canal Plus plan to merge
their Polish pay-TV businesses into a joint venture in which TVN
will have a significant minority stake, the Polish company's
controlling shareholder said in a statement late Tuesday.
Canal Plus, which is owned by France's Vivendi SA (VIV.FR),
plans to acquire a significant minority stake in N-Vision B.V., the
parent company of Polish Television Holding B.V., which in turn
holds a 51% stake in TVN, ITI Holdings SA said in a statement on
its website.
Canal Plus has been granted the option to acquire the remaining
portion of the controlling stake in TVN over time from ITI, the
company added.
