                     Funds Update - Withdrawal of Petitions

The Company wishes to announce that Mr. John Bruhl, a shareholder of the 
Absolute European Catalyst Fund Limited and the Absolute Octane Fund Limited, 
has withdrawn the petitions filed on 3 October 2007 with the Grand Court of the 
Cayman Islands. Through the petitions, Mr. Bruhl had requested the Court to 
order that the Absolute European Catalyst Fund Limited and the Absolute Octane 
Fund Limited be wound up and a provisional liquidator appointed over their 
assets. The petitions were to be heard at a date after 30 October 2007 
convenient to the Court and counsel.

Commenting through Mr. Peter A. Broadhurst, his Cayman Islands counsel, Mr.
Bruhl said that changes and concessions which the funds and their investment
manager introduced after his petitions were filed, have alleviated his concerns
about the possible impact of the restructuring and that he therefore no longer
considers it necessary to pursue the petitions.

Jonathan Treacher, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, said "I am very 
pleased with this development. With the threat of liquidation of the Octane and 
Catalyst funds having passed, we can get on with our mandate of managing the 
funds with a view to realising liquidity. I wish to thank all fund investors, 
including Mr. Bruhl, who gave us valuable input on the restructuring proposals 
leading up to the successful shareholder votes in the Cayman Islands on 27th 
October 2007."
