Aegis Media, a unit of U.K. marketing group Aegis Group PLC (AGS.LN), Wednesday said Simon Francis will become the new chief executive for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

MAIN FACTS:

- The appointment of Simon Francis, who is expected to take up his new position early next year, is part of a wider management restructuring at Aegis Media designed to bring greater focus to the group's regions and networks that lie behind the "Power Brand" strategy.

- Francis, who is currently CEO of the EMEA region at Publicis Groupe SA's (PUB.FR) Saatchi & Saatchi network, will report directly to Aegis CEO Jerry Buhlmann.

- Under the management changes, all markets and regions within EMEA will report to Francis.

- Nigel Sharrocks, currently CEO for Western Europe, will move to take overall global matrix responsibility for Aegis Media's three media networks, Carat, Vizeum and Posterscope, including the international client management teams for these brands. He will also become chairman of Aegis Media UK.
