                          Appointment of New Director                          

The Board of Avid Holdings plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the
appointment of David Ralph Walton Masters as a non-executive director of the
Company with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointment Jonathan Bobbett, Chief Executive, said:

"David's extensive City and international management experience will be of
considerable benefit to the Group as it develops and we are delighted that he
has agreed to join the Board."

Mr Walton Masters, aged 63, is currently a director of Laura Ashley Holdings
plc, HCM Asset Management Ltd, HCM Investment Services Ltd, InvestSelect Plc,
Escopeta Energy Company Inc, Arrik Energy Inc, City of London Group plc and
City of London Financial Services Ltd.

In the past 5 years Mr Walton Masters has held the following directorships:
Corus Hotels Plc, Morning Star Investment Management Ltd, Morning Star
Investment Management (Jersey) Ltd and Beta Funds Ltd.

There are no other disclosures required to be made pursuant to the AIM Rules -
Schedule Two paragraph g (iii) - (viii).
