Amte Power Expects to Join UK-Funded Vehicle Charging Systems Project

Amte Power PLC said Wednesday that it expects to be made a
partner in a new U.K. government-funded project to develop
ultra-fast charging systems for electric and fuel cell
vehicles.
The manufacturer of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells
said the project, named Celeritas, will be funded by the joint
partners, which include the U.K. Advanced Propulsion Centre as well
as a consortium consisting of Sprint Power, BMW, BP PLC, Clas-SiC
and Eltrium.
Shares at 0947 GMT were up 14.90 pence, or 7.5%, at 215.0
pence.
