First Quarter 1999 Sales: Up 23.4% LAPEYRE Group consolidated
sales rose 23.4% in the first-quarter 1999, to FF 1,692 million (EUR 248.3
million) and 9.3% on a comparable structure. International sales include
revenues from the following companies: the foreign retailing subsidiaries,
Fenstratec, Sofiplas (Belgium), subsidiaries owned by Lapeyre Deutschland, and
ERG and Okfens in Poland.

1,319.7 23.4% In France, the Lapeyre and GME network are continuing to
expand at a sustained pace. Business supply and construction subsidiaries are
benefiting from firm demand, while K par K is enjoying strong growth in both
order intake and billings. Internationally, business in Germany and Poland is
subject to greater seasonal variations than in France, due to local weather
patterns. Effective May 1, K par K acquired a controlling interest in SBL, which
makes premium quality tropical wood verandas marketed under the styl'deco brand.
The Company operates a production unit in Marcoing, in Northern France, and ten
retail outlets in the Nord, Champagne-Ardennes and Ile de France regions. It
employs 60 people and has reported sales of FRF 38 million in 1998. SBL's
founder, Joel Blondin, will continue to serve as the company's Chief Executive
