                     APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Goldshield Group plc ("Goldshield"), the marketing-led Pharmaceutical Company,
today announces the appointment of Paul Edwards MBE as a Non-Executive Director.

Paul Edwards MBE, 50, has over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical and
biotechnology sectors. From 1994-2000, Paul was Chairman of the Bio Industry
Association's Manufacturing Advisory Committee and was Chief Executive Officer
for six years at the biopharmaceutical company, GeneMedix plc. The company
raised #20 million at IPO, listing its shares in both London and Singapore and
established subsidiaries to the business in Malaysia and Ireland. He was also
instrumental in the acquisition of a Chinese biotechnology company during his
time.

He was previously employed at Genzyme Corporation for 12 years, latterly as Vice
President and General Manager of UK Operations.

In recognition of Paul's work, he received the MBE for his services to the
biotechnology industry in 1997.

Paul is currently Chief Executive of Ruston Poole International, one of Europe's
leading specialist Executive search firms within the healthcare sector. His
duties include the overall management of the organisation as well as building a
portfolio of clients, particularly in the biotechnology and generics sector. A
key achievement to date has been the establishment of a Ruston Poole office in
Shanghai.

Commenting on the appointment, Rakesh Patel, Chief Executive of Goldshield,
