ITM Power PLC said Tuesday that 7.5 million pounds ($9.8 million) of funding has been awarded for phase two of the Gigastack renewable hydrogen project as part of the U.K.'s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy hydrogen supply competition.

The London-listed energy storage and clean fuel company said the project--which includes Orsted, Phillips 66 Ltd. and Element Energy--aims to show how renewable hydrogen derived from offshore wind can support the U.K.'s 2050 net-zero greenhouse-gas emission target.
