                    TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES

On 19 August 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 20,000 GBP
shares at a range of prices from GBP 9.85 to GBP 9.88 (the
"Transaction")

On 19 August 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 302,000 EUR
shares at a range of prices from EUR 9.30 to EUR 9.44 (the
"Transaction")

On 19 August 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 5,000 US$
shares at a price of  US$ 9.85 (the "Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
20,000 of its GBP issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued GBP shares of the Company to 33,188,465. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
302,000 of its EUR issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued EUR shares of the Company to 61,623,737. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
5,000 of its US$ issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued US$ shares of the Company to 21,857,406. (the
"Transaction")

Following the Transaction, there are now in issue (to the exclusion
of those held in treasury) 55,985,065 EUR Shares, 19,908,011 US$
Shares and 30,183,297 GBP Shares.  The total number of shares held in
treasury are 5,638,672 EUR Shares, 1,949,395 US$ Shares and 3,005,168
GBP Shares.
