French energy group Engie SA (ENGI.FR) said Friday that it will invest 800 million euros ($913 million) to develop green gases in the next five years.

The company's plan--disclosed during the inauguration of one of its methanization units--should support Engie's goal to inject at least 10% of renewable gases into its network by 2030 and, thus, comply with French law.

The company plans to use 100% of green gases for its operations by 2050, it said last year.
