Explanation of Responses:
(1)	In connection with the exercise of the share appreciation rights award described in Table II, 16,372 common shares were disposed of in satisfaction of the exercise price. The reporting person received a net issuance of 32,018 common shares.
(2)	The share appreciation right became exercisable in three equal annual installments, with the first installment becoming exercisable on November 12, 2013 and the next two installments on November 12, 2014 and November 12, 2015, subject to the applicable award agreement.
(3)	Amount includes 765 common shares acquired on May 31, 2021 under the Arch Capital Group Ltd. Employee Share Purchase Plan.
(4)	Represents a weighted average purchase price; the purchases prices ranged from $42.13 to $42.18. Upon request, the full purchase information regarding the number of shares purchased at each price increment will be provided to the Commission or a security holder of the issuer.
