31 March 2009 - 1:35AM
Marketwired
FUJIFILM Recording Media U.S.A., Inc. today announced that it will
showcase its microfilm document archive solutions at AIIM 2009 in
Philadelphia, PA, namely the AR-1000 Document Archive System and
two proprietary silver halide film types, Archive Media AM-66 and
the new Archive Media AM-33. The AR-1000 Document Archive System
directly records digital data onto the compatible microfilm which
has an ISO certified life of 500 years for safe, secure document
storage and management.
"Microfilm is difficult to alter without detection, is highly
resistant to damage, and is hardware-independent making document
recovery possible from generation to generation," said Randy
Petree, national sales manager, Fujifilm Recording Media, U.S.A,
Inc. "More and more, microfilm is becoming the archive media of
choice for historical and government documents as well as legal
documents and genealogical histories, for example, because it can
stand up to the test of time. We look forward to demonstrating how
Fujifilm can help provide a reliable and trustworthy archive
solution again this year at AIIM."
Document Archive System AR-1000
Fujifilm's AR-1000 Document Archive System is network enabled
and offers high-speed recording of 400 pages per minute. A dual
film magazine increases workflow operations and minimizes manual
intervention without compromising speed. Its 5.9 target on film is
equal to 300dpi output and autorotation automatically rotates and
orients all images with typewritten text. The user-friendly Virtual
AR(TM) job setup software allows for the preview of information
transferred to film and offers a document management solution from
creation through storage and destruction.
Archive Media AM-66 and AM-33
Each of Fujifilm's PET-based silver halide archive media offers
optimal sensitivity for red LED, panchromatic sensitivity for the
vivid duplication of images, and a resolving power of 850 lines/mm.
Archive Media AM-66 has a 2.5 mil thickness and is 16mmx66m/215ft,
while the new AM-33 has a 5 mil thickness and is 16mmx30.5m/100ft,
catering to low volume applications. AM-33 will run from a separate
magazine than AM-66, further increasing the efficiency of
operations.
Fujifilm's AR-1000 and Archive Media AM-66 are now available
through Fujifilm's distribution partners. Archive Media AM-33 will
be available in June 2009. For more information on this and other
