Montgomery County, Texas Sheriff's Department Goes Live on Geac Public Safety's EnRoute Computer-aided Dispatch System Improves Response Time with Web Interfaces and Graphical Call Displays TAMPA, FL, March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Geac(R) Public Safety, a division of Geac (TSX:GAC, NASDAQ:GEAC), today announced that the Montgomery County (Texas) Sheriff's Department has gone live with Geac's EnRoute Computer- aided Dispatch (CAD) software applications to dispatch law enforcement services for Montgomery County. The software solution includes EnRoute CAD and EnRoute I-STATUS web access to current call status, along with interfaces to the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications (TLET), E911, and the County's records management and mobile data systems. As the seventh largest sheriff's department in Texas with about 450 employees, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department was seeking a dispatch solution that could keep up with its immediate demand for performance and growth. It selected Geac as the one that best met its functional requirements after reviewing submissions to an RFP. With dedicated teams, Geac and the County were able to bring the system live in two months. Sue Bosma, Montgomery County CIS Director, stated, "Upon initiating the trial program combining Montgomery County Sheriff and Montgomery County 911 Dispatch, it became evident that our current CAD system would not support additional dispatch stations. In October 2004, we issued a RFP for a new system. The successful vendor was required to integrate its CAD solution with The Software Group (TSG) system and the Custom Logic Design (CLD) Mobile Communication software (ZClient32). Geac was awarded the contract in January 2005, after we looked at the Geac EnRoute system in neighboring College Station, Texas. We liked the functionality, flexibility, and ease-of-use of the system. We went live on March 9, 2005 and are pleased with both the dispatch response times and the end-user interface. Geac personnel have been attentive and pro-active throughout the project." Geac's EnRoute law enforcement CAD products facilitate quick response to incoming calls, rapid dispatch of required units and complete documentation of incidents in a graphical user interface environment. Supporting multiple call takers and dispatchers, EnRoute enables calls to be dispatched by address, telephone number, intersection, business name, landmark, call box and alarm activations. The EnRoute Intranet Status Account (I-STATUS) graphically displays call information and provides web access to call status details from the Geac CAD system. Molly Crews, General Manager of Geac Public Safety, stated, "Geac is excited about how smoothly the dispatchers moved to the new system. EnRoute's feature-rich applications are designed to maximize the County's existing standard operating procedure, while increasing dispatcher and management access to information. This system also provides the County the flexibility required to operate in its fast-paced environment."
