Ireland's Data Protection Commission has opened an inquiry into
Google Ireland Ltd.'s processing of personal data in connection
with its Ad Exchange.
The regulator said the matter arose from its "ongoing
examination of data protection compliance" in personalized online
advertising.
The commission said it will examine General Data Protection
Regulation principles of transparency and data minimization, as
well as Google's retention practices.
Google is a unit of Alphabet Inc. (GOOG, GOOGL).
