PepsiCo to Hire 6,000 New Full-Time Workers, Enhances Benefits

PepsiCo Inc. on Friday said it plans to hire 6,000 full-time,
frontline employees in the U.S. in the coming months.
The company said its frontline employees are "the women and men
who make, move and sell products."
PepsiCo also said it will provide enhanced benefits for all
U.S.-based employees as well as additional compensation to its
frontline employees amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"The additional compensation covers more than 90,0000 frontline
employees at both PepsiCo Beverages North America and PepsiCo Foods
North America and consists of a minimum of an incremental $100 per
week for full-time employees over the next month," the company
said.
PepsiCo said employees who must quarantine will receive 100% of
their pay during for up to 14 days. The company also said
quarantine time won't be counted against sick days.
Workers caring for family members who are under quarantine will
also receive 100% of pay during a 14-day quarantine period, the
company said.
Employees who work at a facility that must be closed will
receive 100% pay for up to 12 weeks, and employees who must stay
home to look after a child due to closure of school or day-care
center will get a minimum of two-thirds salary for up to 12 weeks
if they cannot work from home.
The company also said its philanthropic arm, the PepsiCo
Foundation, will invest up to $11 million to support communities
affected by Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus,
around the world.
