Plumtree Software Examines Portal Architecture and Development Approaches at JavaOne Conference in San Francisco
27 June 2005 - 10:01PM
Business Wire
Plumtree Software (Nasdaq:PLUM) today announced that David Meyer,
vice president of product management, will discuss Java portal best
practices and market approaches on a panel at the JavaOne
Conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 28, 2005. The panel,
entitled "Java(TM) Technology Portals Panel -- Leading Vendors
Debate Architecture and Development Approaches," will be moderated
by InfoWorld's Eric Knorr and includes speakers from BEA Systems,
Sun Microsystems and Vignette. Java is the dominant development
platform for modern application building, yet market-leading Java
portals vary widely when it comes to architecture. Plumtree's open
portal technology affords companies the unique ability to design
applications on different platforms, eliminating the constraints of
a particular system built on a singe stack. Additionally,
Plumtree's portal platform provides enterprises with the framework
to create composite applications which can be integrated into a
cohesive Web environment. "With portal technology at the forefront
of many service-oriented architecture (SOA) strategies, it is no
surprise that large enterprise CIOs have ranked portal projects
among their highest spending priorities for 2005," said Meyer. "To
that point, it is critical for developers to fully understand the
evolving standards and differing architectural approaches of Java
portal vendors to help determine what will work best for their
respective organizations." -0- *T Session Details: When: Tuesday,
