and lighting technology, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in
Las Vegas, Jan. 6-9. Visteon's original equipment products are on
display in the North Plaza, booth #1, and its aftermarket products
are shown in the North Hall, booth #5811. Digital Sound - Digital
audio products offer CD-quality audio for the driver and the
passengers. Visteon's leadership and expertise in digital audio
technology development spans more than two decades and today plays
a role in the development and delivery of HD Radio(TM), satellite
radio, CD6/MP3 Music system and MACH(R) Voice Link Radio. Visteon's
digital signal processing entered the marketplace in high-volume
production more than 10 years ago. The transition to digital audio
improves audio quality for listeners and allows the transmission of
such other data as song title, entertainer names, and even
real-time traffic and weather information. Visteon's digital audio
expertise played a key role in developing HD Radio, which will be
in production late in 2005, improving the quality of local radio
and offering data transmission for AM/FM broadcasters. This digital
audio system is viewed as a complementary system to satellite radio
systems that offer hundreds of channels regardless of location.
Visteon offers a single head-unit solution that can play back
signals from either an XM or a SIRIUS satellite radio receiver.
This simplifies automaker assembly while providing consumers with a
choice of satellite radio providers. Visteon's CD6/MP3 music system
brings over 60 hours of music to the fingertips of the driver. This
system offers the convenience of dashboard loading and MP3/WMA
playback capability. This offers consumers a portable,
user-friendly and customizable format for their favorite music.
MACH Voice Link Radio integrates Bluetooth(R) wireless connectivity
into the radio to simplify assembly for the automaker while
providing technology to keep the driver's eyes on the road and
hands on the wheel. Branded Audio - Visteon and Boston Acoustics
teamed up in 2002 to bring branded Boston Acoustics audio to the
vehicle. The results of this partnership are now in production on
several Chrysler and Jeep vehicles. Through a new partnership with
Boston Acoustics and Dolby Laboratories, Visteon is offering
automakers branded Boston Acoustics, Dolby(R) Pro Logic(R) II,
DVD-Audio, family entertainment systems. This system also features
the first wireless Dolby Headphone solution for automotive use.
Family Entertainment - Visteon was first in the industry to supply
factory-installed family entertainment systems in high-volume
vehicles. Visteon has subsequently refined family entertainment
systems for passenger cars, delivering a factory-installed console
version in 2003 and most recently introducing a truly portable
solution: Dockable Family Entertainment. The Dockable Family
Entertainment System(TM) is offered as an aftermarket product with
original equipment availability anticipated in upcoming model
years. This new system offers a 10-inch viewing area and can be
