English translation of the aforementioned British Embassy release:
Mexico City, September 28th, 2004. The British Embassy in Mexico
will take part in the testing of a lithium powered Mini Cooper
which was produced by WHISTLER INVESTMENTS. The test will last one
year and the results will be reported monthly to Whistler
Investments. The British Embassy will participate at this research
as part of the continuous commitment of the British Government in
order to protect and Improve the quality of the Global Natural
Environment and the embassy will be utilizing the test results in
order to validate if this new technology could be effective in
reducing emission pollution - a problem occurring in major cities
around the world, such as Mexico City and London. This agreement is
part of the British Government's work in the world to alleviate
environmental problems. Currently in Mexico, the British Government
Supports Mexican programs related to this issue through the Global
Opportunities Fund (GOF). The GOF programs include regulation of
natural resources, from programs such as water access to the
information related to Global Natural Environment themes, eco
tourism and renewable power through the use of methane. The
Official launch of this program and the presentation of the
organization supported by GOF, took place on September 14th. The
Embassy Mini Cooper is a 5-speed vehicle, with maximum speed of 140
km/hr, using battery packages of 56 volts and 56 amperes. The
charging time of battery is 2 or 3 hrs, at 110-120 or 220-240
Volts. The British Embassy in Mexico congratulates Whistler
Investments for the development of this advanced technology, used
in this vehicle. Notes from the editor: The Global Opportunities
Fund was presented in August 2003 by the British Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Jack Straw. Through this fund, Non-governmental
projects from the Academic sector, local communities or projects
from governments of emerged countries and whose activities are
