FedEx Corp. and Salesforce.com Inc. are entering a partnership to collaborate on tools for businesses that sell goods online, the two companies said Tuesday.

The companies will integrate Salesforce's cloud-based e-commerce software and its order-management tools with FedEx's ShopRunner e-commerce platform, they said. The combined tools will help commercial customers manage and fulfill orders and get better visibility into the supply chain, Salesforce and FedEx said.

Consumers will see more options for two-day shipping, a streamlined system for returns and better information about delivery dates and real-time package tracking, the companies said.

The first tools will likely be available from the partnership next spring, the companies said. Pricing announcements will follow, they said.
