DigitalGlobe (NYSE: DGI), a leading global provider of
high-resolution earth imagery solutions, publicly unveiled its My
DigitalGlobe cloud services platform at GEOINT 2012, the nation's
largest intelligence event.
DigitalGlobe Cloud Services unlocks the power of the world's
largest online library of high-resolution imagery by giving
customers access to the most current imagery and geospatial
information from desktops, portals, intranets and mobile devices
around the world.
The new My DigitalGlobe portal creates seamless, on-demand
access to more than 200 million square kilometers of imagery -- a
number that grows every day. This includes content from
DigitalGlobe services such as Global Basemap, First Look, Enhanced
GEOINT Delivery (EGD) and some custom customer content.
In short, the simple and intuitive My DigitalGlobe
user-interface further enhances the experience for government and
commercial customers through a greater ability to access and manage
the information they need when and where they need it most.
"By giving our customers quick and simple access to geospatial
imagery and information -- anytime and anywhere -- they can make
smarter decisions faster," said Scott Hicar, senior vice president,
DigitalGlobe. "My DigitalGlobe is the next evolution of imagery
dissemination that provides end-users with more immediate and
reliable access to critical information through the cloud."
Through the My DigitalGlobe interface, customers can access
their Global Basemap and FirstLook products and EGD content to
quickly search for imagery, plan and manage downloads, and export
and save in multiple formats.
Its easy-to-use online browser also allows access to
multi-temporal imagery and metadata, and it provides an exclusive
add-as-you-go library for organizing, downloading, and extracting
data directly into workflows.
Whether through high quality ortho imagery from Global Basemap
Cities, or imagery to assess and respond to natural disasters with
FirstLook, the new platform provides those who use My DigitalGlobe
with simplified access, quick analysis and improved decision making
capabilities whenever and wherever they need it.
"The My DigitalGlobe UI is simple and clean, and the ability to
process images online easily is great," said Shin Nagamine of
Hitachi Solution, LTD. "For example, I really like that I can make
a collage or add an image to the library with choice in
interpolation. The ability to add the satellite images that we need
to the library is very useful, and because we can share the images
with people remotely, it reduces storage and hardware costs."
GEOINT 2012 Demonstrations of
DigitalGlobe's complete suite of GEOINT products and services will
be taking place at the DigitalGlobe booth #1401.
