GE Transportation Update
Team,
Today we announced that GE Transportation
will merge with <
http://www.getransportation.com/wabtec-and-ge-transportation-merge-creating-global-leader-rail-equipment-services-and-software
>
Wabtec Corporation, a long-time global supplier to the transportation industry. This strategic combination is an excellent fit
and will create a global industry leader in transportation and logistics.
I am very proud of the GE Transportation
team and Rafael’s leadership. Their focus on operating rigor through a tough cycle and hard work developing some of the
best technology and digital solutions across the transportation industry have positioned their business for this next step. Together
with Wabtec, they will have $8 billion in combined revenues, an unmatched global installed base, and a leading position in key
freight rail and transit geographies worldwide. They will bring over two centuries of collective industry heritage and a shared
employee commitment to customer outcomes, quality, safety and technology innovation. Together, they will be better positioned
to win.
Today’s announcement marks
an important step in GE’s evolution to make our company simpler and stronger. I know these changes — and working in
uncertainty — are hard. Thank you for your continued hard work to deliver for our customers. That is what GE Transportation
has done so well throughout its history and I’m confident it will serve them well in the future.
