Business Wire
Green Mountain Power will hold its second "Community Energy Fair"
on Saturday, September 10, outside of its offices in Colchester,
from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Described as "Part festival. Part
science fair. All fun.," the event includes energy games for
children, energy efficiency and safety information for adults,
lineworker demonstrations of pole-top rescues and rides for the
public in the elevated bucket of a linetruck. "We wanted to offer
the community a day of fun and a way to help folks learn about
energy. All of us at Green Mountain Power are looking forward to
hosting our customers and Vermont shareholders and treating them to
a great day," said Chris Dutton, Green Mountain Power's president
and chief executive officer. Green Mountain Power has arranged for
some more unusual exhibits, including solar-powered smoothies, a
solar-powered bus, and the Steel Rail bluegrass band. In addition,
members and mascots from the Vermont Voltage soccer team and the
Vermont Ice Storm football team will be mingling with attendees at
the event. Customers will also have an opportunity to record their
opinions about how they would like Vermont's energy future to look.
And they can sign up for a voluntary program to fight global
warming, an important environmental and social issue facing all
Vermonters. The Community Energy Fair is sponsored in part by
Efficiency Vermont, KnowledgeWave, Seventh Generation, Casella and
KeyBank. The event will be held rain or shine at Green Mountain
Power offices at 163 Acorn Lane, Colchester, Vermont, about a mile
off of I-89, exit 16. For exact directions, see
