New Tuition-Free Online Public School
Approved to Serve Pennsylvania Students in Grades K-10
A new tuition-free, full-time online public school, Insight
Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (ISPA), is now enrolling students
from across the state for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. ISPA
will open this Fall on September 5th, serving students in grades
K-10. In 2018-2019, the 11th grade will be added followed by 12th
grade in 2019-2020. Enrollment information can be found at
http://pa.insightschools.net/how-enroll.html.
"Our vision is to ignite a desire for learning in every student,
and help them achieve both academic and personal success," said
Diana Moninger, Board Member of Insight Pennsylvania Cyber Charter
School. “Insight Pennsylvania is committed to offering Pennsylvania
families a high-quality and innovative public school choice that is
accessible to all regardless of where they live.”
Students enrolled at ISPA will learn outside the traditional
classroom. The rigorous and engaging curriculum offered by ISPA
will include courses in English/language arts, math, science,
history, world languages, art and music, as well as some
electives.
The school will initially offer two exploratory Career and
Technical Education (CTE) courses and will offer an entire CTE
program option for students in the coming years. The CTE program is
designed to help young people develop the knowledge and skills to
acquire high-demand, high-paying jobs in fields, such as health
care, information technology, energy, manufacturing and
agriculture. As ISPA adds grades, it will offer additional CTE
courses designed to expose students to a wide variety of college
and career options, prepare them for valuable certification
examinations, and provide hands-on, work-based experience
opportunities, all while earning credits toward high school
graduation.
“We want to see every student who selects Insight Pennsylvania
prepared for the next stage of their lives, whether it is pursuing
a career, higher education, military service, or another phase of
their educational journey," said Moninger. "Our school will offer
students a fresh educational start through a full-service learning
model designed around individualized instruction, high-quality
curriculum, student-focused support initiatives, and a commitment
to ensuring every student reaches his or her true potential.”
ISPA’s state-certified teachers will provide instruction,
guidance and support, and interact with students and parents via
email, web-based classrooms with online discussions, phone and
face-to-face meetings. Teachers will work in close partnership with
parents or other responsible adults who serve as learning coaches
for the students.
ISPA will also provide every student with an Individualized
Learning Plan (ILP), which is informed by teachers who work with
students to make sure the lesson plans are based on the student’s
needs and the progress the student has made to date, as well as the
student’s personal interests and college and career
aspirations.
ISPA is governed by an independent, nonprofit charter school
board made up of Pennsylvania parents, educators and community
leaders. The nonprofit board, which was awarded the charter from
the PA Department of Education, oversees all operations of the
school and sets school policies.
ISPA is partnering with K12 Inc., America's leading provider of
K-12 online and blended school offerings. The school will use K12's
interactive curriculum and academic services. K12 Inc. is
accredited by AdvancED, the world's largest education
community.
Parents interested in providing their child with an innovative,
technology-enhanced education experience may consider enrolling in
ISPA. For more information on enrollment, and in-person or online
