Wilmington Trust announced today that Rita C. Turner, executive vice president and head of the companys Client Services department, has been selected to receive U.S. Banker magazines Marjorie Magner Lifetime Achievement Award. According to editors, the national award is given annually to one woman in the banking industry whose outstanding personal and professional achievements over the course of her career are marked by a demonstrated ability to inspire excellence in others and an unrelenting commitment to use her influence to support education, equal opportunity, and diversity within corporate America and communities locally, regionally, or nationally. It is named in honor of Marjorie Magner, former chairman and CEO of Citigroups Global Consumer Group, and will be given in conjunction with U.S. Bankers 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking, the 25 Women to Watch, and the Top 3 Banking Teams rankings at a black-tie gala in New York on October 20th. Ritas accomplishments have been instrumental to the success of Wilmington Trust over the long term, and the commitment she has demonstrated throughout her career to community service organizations is equally impressive, said Robert V.A. Harra Jr., president and chief operating officer of Wilmington Trust. With high moral character, she leads by example. She inspires people around her to be purposeful and successful in everything they do at work and in the community. Rita is a talented executive and a genuine humanitarian, and we could not be more proud of her.
