Sterling Publishing Group announces that it has today granted options over an
aggregate of 3,080,774 ordinary 5p shares in the Company at an exercise price of
13.25p under the terms of the Sterling Publishing Group 2003 Executive Share
Option Scheme.  Included in this number are awards to the following executive
directors:

Steven Peter Nicholson                                           1,000,000
Simone Elizabeth Kesseler                                          765,774
Derek Stephen Watson                                               450,000

The options will normally be exercisable after three years from the date of
grant and are subject to performance conditions.  The options may not be
exercised after ten years.
