EDP 4Q Net Profit Rose Despite Revenue Decline

EDP-Energias de Portugal SA said late Wednesday that net profit
rose while revenue fell in the fourth quarter of last year.
The Portuguese energy company reported quarterly net profit of
161 million euros ($171.3 million) compared with EUR146 million in
the year-earlier period.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization
increased to EUR1.48 billion from EUR1.22 billion, while EBIT came
in at EUR703 million from EUR575 million the previous year.
Revenue from energy sales, services and other sources was
EUR4.80 billion in the quarter, down from EUR4.98 billion in the
fourth quarter of 2021.
EDP said it would propose a dividend of EUR0.19 a share for 2022
at the general shareholders meeting, in line with the previous year
and its dividend policy for the 2021-25 period.
