Nestle SA said late Tuesday that its subsidiary Nestle Purina
PetCare would invest $550 million to expand its pet-food
manufacturing facility in Georgia, U.S., as a result of growing
demand.
The Swiss food-and-beverage giant said it would create up to 130
jobs at the Hartwell facility--where flagship brands like Fancy
Feast are produced--adding processing, packaging and warehouse
capacity.
The investment is part of a broader growth plan for Purina in
the U.S., which includes the new factories in Ohio and North
Carolina, the company said.
