Transaction in own shares

On 16 April 2012,Absolute Return Trust Limited (the "Company") purchased its own shares at the following price:

Sterling shares 25,000 at GBP1.0725

These Sterling shares will be cancelled.

Following this purchase and cancellation the Company's issued share capital will consist of the following:

   Sterling shares               153,684,901 
   Euro shares                   9,372,854

The total number of shares with voting rights in the Company will therefore be 163,057,755.

The above figure (163,057,755) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
