Change of name to AfriAg Global Plc

Significant Update on Global Activities.

AfriAg PLC (ISDX:AFRI), the rapidly expanding London listed global logistics and food sales group is pleased to announce it will be changing its name to AfriAg Global Plc (“AfriAg Global”) to reflect the dramatic changes seen by the business since its birth only a few years ago from an African centric bespoke food logistics business to one that now provides global logistics, food marketing and bespoke distribution services to many of the globe’s major corporations in many countries around the world.

The Company will advise when the change of name will take effect, which is expected to be within the next week.

The current AfriAg family, comprising AfriAg Marketing Pty Ltd ("AfriAg Marketing"), the 100% owned food sales, marketing and distribution division, and our 40% owned specialist African agri-logistics group AfriAg SA (Pty) Ltd ("AfriAg SA"), will proudly continue to trade under the existing well established and highly recognised AfriAg Brand.

Record Airfreight – 6 months to 30 June 30 2016:

A record total of 1,450,627 kg of perishable goods was airfreighted globally for the first calender six months from 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2016, with another record of 439,998 kg being airfreighted in a one month period to many destinations around the world just for last monh alone by AfriAg SA.

This is an increase of about 60% from the 907,000 kg of perishable goods air freighted for the same period last year.

David Lenigas, the Company’s Executive Chairman, commented;

“The Company is experiencing one of the most exciting and explosive growth periods of its young life and has now morphed in to a truly global logistics business, hence the name change to reflect today’s  true “global” nature of the business.”

“AfriAg is no longer only a dream of moving perishable food around southern Africa to a first world standard, but now flying and shipping the best African export quality to the global market place. The business has now developed in to a much larger and more global enterprise.”

“AfriAg now operates logistics services to many major global cities and ports around the globe. The Company has turned into a truly global enterprise and we see tremendous growth from this springboard. We are are now one of the largest airfreighters of perishable food out of southern Africa using the some of the world’s largest airlines and providing bespoke first world logistics all over the world through our rapidly expanding global network of airlines and agents.

“Not only are we exporting millions of kilograms a year of freshly grown African food and perishable goods to many destinations around the globe with some of the worlds biggest airlines and household recognised corporations, and trucking and shipping tens of thousands of tonnes a year by sea and our bespoke refridgerated fleet, AfriAg is now importing thousands of tonnes of food a month into Africa from the USA, Europe and South America.
