Barclays PLC said Wednesday that the resolution to approve its
directors' remuneration report passed with a 89.03% vote count at
its general meeting.
The FTSE 100 listed bank's investors had been recommended to
oppose the policy by major adviser Pirc on concerns over the pay of
its highest paid director last year, the group finance director
Tushar Morzaria, according to a report published by Financial News
earlier on Wednesday.
Financial News is owned by News Corp, the parent company of the
Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires.
Barclays's remuneration report is for the year ended Dec.
31.
The lender also said that the resolution to approve the lender's
climate strategy, targets and progress for 2022 only got the
support of 80.81% of the vote count.
