Eros wins 'Top Grossing Banner' and 'Excellence in International
Distribution' awards and Vicky Donor wins 'Most Successful Small
Budget Film' at the Zee ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2012
London, 9(th) January, 2013: Eros has been awarded the Top
Grossing Banner and Excellence in International Distribution awards
at the Zee ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2012. Additionally, Vicky
Donor produced by Eros, went on to win the Most Successful Small
Budget film award.
The Zee ETC Bollywood Business Awards is India's only awards
show that celebrates and recognizes the efforts of marketers,
distributors, production houses and exhibitors who contribute
towards a film's collections with actors and directors. The winners
represent the best work within the industry and are evaluated on
the basis of revenues. These awards take into consideration the
economic quotient as cornerstone for mapping the success of the
film.
Receiving the award for Top Grossing Banner, Mr. Sunil Lulla,
Vice-Chairman, Eros said "We thank Zee ETC for honouring us with
these recognitions. 2012 was a fantastic year for the industry and
Eros. We released a mixed bouquet of successful productions and
acquisitions - from commercial blockbusters like Housefull 2,
Cocktail, Son of Sardar, Khiladi 786 to concept driven successes
like Vicky Donor, English Vinglish and Ferrari ki Sawaari. It's
been our endeavour to present entertaining cinema and we managed to
hit the right chord across audiences with a fantastic slate last
year.
Accepting the award for Excellence in International
Distribution, Mr. Lulla added, "We began the journey of bringing
Indian cinema across the world more than 35 years ago and receiving
this award reiterates our success in international distribution.
Today we can boast of a dominant market position and distribute
over 70 films every year in over 50 different countries in 25
different languages, both dubbed and subtitled. We have always been
eager to embrace change and explore new frontiers and have ensured
every release of ours gets the best possible platform in India and
overseas markets through our distribution muscle".
Collecting the Most Successful Small Budget Film Award for Vicky
Donor, Mr. Lulla commented, "We believed in this film from day one
and its performance exceeded our expectations. It was appreciated
by audiences and critics alike and I would like to thank everyone
associated with this project".
