Appointment of a Director

The Board of Directors of Plantation & General Investments Plc is pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Barry Hill as a Non-Executive Director on 8
September 2004.

Barry Hill is a chartered accountant and worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers for
over 29 years, 18 as a tax partner specialising in corporate reorganisations and
mergers and acquisitions. There are no matters relating to Barry Hill that
require disclosure under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the
UK Listing Authority.
