LONDON--SSE PLC (SSE.LN) said Friday it secured a total of 4.41
gigawatts of one-year capacity agreements starting in October 2018
in a U.K. government auction.
The capacity which has secured an agreement includes 849
megawatts of hydro-electric and pumped-storage plant, 2.27
gigawatts of gas-fired plant, and 1.29 gigawatts of coal-fired
plant, SSE said.
The agreements were priced at GBP19.40 per kilowatt.
De-rated capacity totalling 2.8 gigawatts didn't secure an
agreement, including Abernedd, Ferrybridge, Peterhead, and one unit
at Fiddler's Ferry.
Shares at 0830 GMT traded 29 pence or 1.8% lower at 1,617
pence.
